MUN Impact Nigeria

MUN Impact Nigeria was founded to bring SDG awareness and action to Nigerian youth (ages 10-25) through Model United Nations. Founded by Ayotunde Aboderin, an educator from Oyo State, the Nigerian network has grown from one school to over 17 clubs in 17 schools in six short months. MUN Impact clubs have started in most parts of the country, and the network is rapidly expanding.

E4J Partner Update: MUN Impact Nigeria will be participating in the upcoming Strengthening Anti-Corruption Education Workshop for CSO Network on UNODC’s Education for Justice (E4J) Initiative, 5 – 6 February 2020 in Lagos. Mr Ayo Aboderin will be presenting on MUN Impact Nigeria and activating the youth space through MUN to support the SDGs and education for the rule of law. More updates to come!

Upcoming Debate: The first series of MUN debates will focus on SDG Target 15.7: Combating wildlife trafficking and poaching. Students have been researching in their schools and will hold debates on Feb. 29, 2020. The largest will occur at Handmaids Catholic secondary school, Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan, and involve approximately 90 students.

The following SDG Target Story Map on 15.7 has numerous resources and ways to take action on this important topic.
