Si Yun Ee

Youth Director for University Outreach and NGOs

My name is Si Yun Ee and I am currently enrolled in the University of Southern California, majoring in International Relations. Having been deeply involved with MUN Impact since its start in October 2017, I have been privileged to execute my mission and passion for building a brighter future for the world through the MUN Impact’s Strategic Partnerships committee, and extending this role to University Outreach, directly engaging University level students and MUN programs to join us onboard to further advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

Joining the Model UN community has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life, gain exposure to different cultures, beliefs and practices, but also a greater understanding and grasp of the pressing issues we face today. I have seen the strength and power of youths by working with these bright minds through countless conferences, incredible internship and research opportunities about bettering our rapidly changing world and community. It is with the joined hands of knowledgeable, experienced field professionals and the incandescent determination of the youths that the global issues outlined by the Sustainable Development Goals we face today will be a step closer to being resolved.

Don Sandev Ferdinando

Youth Director for Conference Partnerships

Formalizing and compiling the tools and mechanisms available for MUN students to take action in support of the UN’s 2030 Agenda will be an important step for MUN Impact next year. This will help secure MUN Impact’s position at the intersection between the UN and MUN students in the long run. While expanding our partner conferences and clubs to include countries from underrepresented regions remains a priority, I also hope to see an increase in communication between our partners to facilitate the sharing of best practices.

Rahul Nair

Youth Director – Corporate Outreach & Tech Ops

In my experience working with MUN Impact so far, I have come across a number of highly confident and enterprising young individuals who firmly believe in our mission that is to help students and MUN delegates all over the world to be a force for positive change. During the term of 2019-20, I would like to see a growth in that network of individuals through vigorous outreach programs. I already see the MUN Impact philosophy spreading throughout the globe and look forward to seeing teams in various countries inspiring delegates and students to recognize their potential and make a real change.I also envision MUN Impact’s name being synonymous with the progress made by youth globally. On the basis of this progress, I look forward to the organization attracting the necessary financial resources to further our mission.

Erik Novak

Technical & Partnerships Lead

Greetings! Originally from Brazil, I am now an incoming freshman student at Duke University starting in Fall 2020. As a veteran MUNer who, over the past 6 years attended over 50 conferences in 4 continents, I became deeply philosophically swayed by MUN Impact’s goals and successes, in particular extending the pedagogical underpinnings of MUN into social action and changemaking, and aligning the community with the work of the UN beyond mere debate. Thus, I have, since March 2020, worked closely with its leadership to forward its mission, structure its corporate message, develop a robust and functional back-end, and leave an indelible mark on the world by leveraging the goodwill of millions of MUNers globally.

Shennon Sequeira

MUN@Home Program Coordinator

I have been part of the Model UN Community for the last five years, and I strongly believe that MUN Impact connects the passion of MUN to the reality of our global community. MUN Impact brings together individuals from all over the world, working together to empower and foster SDG education through modern technology. MUN@Home offers students a digital platform to connect, learn and grow whilst powering through the global pandemic. I am privileged to be apart of this program that not only fosters SDG Education but makes a lasting step towards change. MUN@Home is growing exponentially every round and continues to help students from all around the world connect and share their passion.

Shanah Makanani

Program Assistant-MUN@Home

My name is Shanah Makanani and I am currently studying International Relations at Africa University in Zimbabwe. My interests in this degree program include human rights, social justice, sustainable growth and environmental sustainability. I naturally fell in love with MUN Impact when I came to learn of the work being undertaken in the organisation as well as its efforts to help the initiatives on SDGs. I realised that MUN Impact is the only key to gaining critical experience and creating relationships that are required to get each and every person involved, closer to achieving goals that are intended to better the world. I grew up in a volatile country marred by violence ranging from gender -based violence to attacks against civilians, a stagnant economy and the violation of human rights. This experience has made me understand how one can survive in a society like this with resilience and it has also prompted me to try to make a difference. I firmly believe that MUN Impact will provide me with the ideas, resources and motivation required to take action, but most importantly, it will help me support students all over Zimbabwe, as well as those in other countries facing similar struggles, to voice their thoughts and come up with the solutions required to address these issues. I am a sociable person who gets more energized when in touch with people from all corners of the globe which is what MUN Impact is all about.
I look forward to building resilience skills among the women, girls, boys marginalised in their societies in different forms which includes building life skills, avoiding gender based violence, supporting sexual reproductive health as well as entrepreneurship for the young women and boys.

Sanjana Kumar

Communications and Publications

Having participated in her high school MUN and MUN Impact programs for the past four and two years, respectively, Sanjana Kumar hopes to carry forward these passions of hers as she starts at the University of Michigan in Fall 2020. Studying Biomolecular Science, she aspires to become a Medical Officer for the United Nations and be a driving force in the fight against one of the issues she is most passionate about: healthcare inequity. She truly believes that youth-led programs like MUN Impact are the most powerful tool we have for social change, not only because of the diverse, global network of students, but also because of the confidence it instills within our leaders of tomorrow. She feels privileged to have the opportunity to continue working with such an inspirational organization and looks forward to sharing her passion with others.

Kabir Sethi

uniO-MUN Director General

From gingerly preparing for my first jrO-MUN debate in 2015, to emotionally presenting my final closing speech for THIMUN-Qatar in 2019, MUN has been an integral part of my life. I hope to carry forward the lessons I have learned from MUN as I start off at Oberlin College this fall. Studying both computer science and politics while also armed with MUN experience, I aspire to become a lawyer with an emphasis on cybersecurity in order to combat pressing issues such as network security privacy and anonymity among social networks. Programs such as MUN are arguably powerful mechanisms to inspire individuals to enact social change, and I am humbled that I have the privilege to present other students—in particular those attending university—with the same opportunities that I was fortunate to experience growing up.

Zach Fisher

Club Partnership Coordinator

My name is Zach Fisher and I am currently enrolled at Columbia University studying Political Science and History. I have been involved with Model UN since high school both training, competing, and staffing at the high school and collegiate level. MUN Impact has given me the ability to take those skills that I have fostered and grown through my Model UN career and help enact substantial change on both the global MUN community and the global community as a whole. Helping to advance the Sustainable Development Goals alongside Model UN Impact gives me and others like me the ability to look beyond the simulated universes created by Model UN and positively affect the physical universe we all live and thrive in. Only with both global cooperation and the intention to positively conform society to its finest can we see the true implementation of the SDG’s!
