TAKE ACTION
The following clubs can be started to support SDG 16.
- Integrity Action Delegates in Kenya, Nepal, Palestine, Afghanistan and DR Congo can work with local organizations on the ground to monitor development projects and promote a culture of transparency. Integrity Action also has a series of unique tools that have been developed for high schools. If you wish to start a club or to undertake monitoring activities in your region, contact them for how to start an Integrity Club.
UN CONNECT
- Education 4 Justice E4J is a program run under UNODC. They have resources, expert feedback, networking and speaker connections, as well as more accurate MUN-style simulations you can integrate into your MUN conference.
- Human Trafficking: Host an awareness raising event by screening Not My Life (a video that puts a human face on the issue of human trafficking). Use UNICEF USA’s End Trafficking Events Toolkit to access ideas to engage your community and raise awareness on this issue.
SEE IMPACT
Lebawi Academy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia hosted, in collaboration with UNODC, a day of awareness raising, as well as a poster contest to promote the Blue Heart Campaign. You can read about their initiative here.
